Tutorial Quicktip: Using Guide Layers on UV Maps for Element 3d assets in After Effects

In this tutorial, I’ll show you one way to utilize the handy ‘Guide Layer’ in After Effects on an Element 3D asset. I use this useful technique to guide the Team Logo placement on a Football Helmet while keeping the UV map invisible on rendering time. This workflow is similar to working with UV’s inside a 3D app like Cinema 4D or Maya where you don’t see the actual UV’s on the model when working with textures, as the UV’s only serve as a guide to place your textures.
